REPÚBLICA DOMINICANA. En las últimas semanas los ciudadanos de diferentes partes de este país se han visto atacados y arropados por el humo y hedor que provienen de diferentes vertederos en varios puntos del país. Por un lado, el Vertedero Duquesa, cuya humareda ha afectado la salud de los ciudadanos de Santo Domingo. Por otro lado, el Vertedero de Haina. El más reciente es el vertedero del sector Rafey, en la ciudad de Santiago.
