República Dominicana. – El Ministerio de Salud Pública informó este miércoles que continúan en aumento los casos de afecciones respiratorias en menores de edad, por lo que llama a los padres y tutores a aplicar las vacunas contra influenza, disponibles en la jornada que se desarrolla en todo el país.
El organismo indica que con esta inmunización los niños estarán protegidos y evitan complicaciones respiratorias, por lo que aconseja además mantener los medidas preventivas como lavado de manos.
Sobre el tema, las doctoras Dhamelisse Then, directora del Hospital Pediátrico Doctor Hugo Mendoza y Mabel Jones, directora del Hospital Infantil Doctor Robert Reid Cabral, al exponer la el panorama actual de estos centros de salud, coincidieron en afirmar el aumento de casos respiratorios que se presentan en las áreas de emergencias de ambos centros de salud.
«En el Hugo Mendoza se registra aumento de los casos de virus respiratorio, es por esto que pedimos vacunar a los niños ya que es la manera más económica e inteligente de prevenir neumonía, bronquiolitis y otras afecciones», resaltó Dhamelisse Then.
Mientras que la doctor Jones informó que en el Robert Read se encuentran 64 pacientes con síntomas febriles, 22 fueron dados de alta en el día de hoy, en tanto que ingresaron otros 32 nuevos pacientes, con patologías como anemia, asma, neumonía, sistemas bronquiales de varios tipos.
