El Partido Revolucionario Moderno sumo 51 alcaldías, y el Partido de la Liberación Dominicana tuvo 41 menos. En el 2016 el PRM solamente obtuvo 30 alcaldías y en los comicios del 15 de marzo pasado obtuvo 80. De su lado el PLD que sumo 107 en el 2016, en esta ocasión bajo a 67. El Partido Reformista Social Cristiano PRSC, de 14 obtenidas en las anteriores elecciones se redujo a 7. EL Bloque Institucional BIS, de 2 obtenidas se redujo a 1. EL Partido Popular Cristiano PPC, obtuvo 1 y el Partido Revolucionario Dominicano PRD, de 30 se redujo a 3.
