La policía de Haití recibió pruebas de que están vivos los 16 estadounidenses y un canadiense secuestrados por una banda criminal, dijo el lunes una fuente policial.
Ese grupo, formado por misioneros y sus familiares, fue secuestrado el 16 de octubre cuando volvía de un orfanato en el área este de Puerto Príncipe controlada por uno de los grupos criminales más poderosos de Haití. “Tenemos pruebas de que todos los rehenes están vivos”, dijo a la AFP una fuente de la Policía Nacional pero sin dar detalles sobre el tipo de pruebas recibida.
La policía dijo que las negociaciones con los secuestradores están en proceso y que varios agentes de la policía federal estadounidense FBI están colaborando en el caso.
