La Cámara de Diputados de México aprobó este jueves castigar hasta con 15 años de prisión a quien infiera lesiones con ácido o sustancias similares.
Con 453 votos a favor, cero en contra y cero abstenciones, el Pleno de la Cámara aprobó en lo general el dictamen que adiciona diversas disposiciones del Código Penal Federal y de la Ley Federal de Víctimas para penar las lesiones inferidas con ácido o sustancias similares.
La diputada Alma González, del partido gobernante Movimiento Regeneración Nacional (Morena) sintió que en México no exista un banco de datos de las mujeres atacadas con ácido.
“Algunas cifras indican que son al menos 3.354 mujeres las que han sido víctimas de esos crímenes durante los últimos 12 años y la mayoría perpetradas por hombres; este es el momento de que las mujeres vivan libres y sin miedo, y que se haga realidad sus demandas”, subrayó.
