República Dominicana.- El vocero de la Presidencia, Homero Figueroa, informó este lunes que el Consejo Nacional de Seguridad ha dispuesto la reapertura de la frontera con Haití, medida que será efectiva a partir del miércoles 11 del presente mes.
En ese sentido, Figueroa anunció una serie de medidas, dentro de las cuales resalta un registro biométrico y se creará un fondo para la mecanización del trabajo agrícola.
El portavoz puntualizó que se mantendrá el cierre migratorio de la frontera, de manera indefinida, para impedir el tránsito de personas desde territorio haitiano.
En ese sentido, Figueroa detalló que se reforzará la militarización de la frontera con el objetivo de bloquear el acceso a pandilleros hacía territorio dominicano.
Otras de las medidas establecidas es la extensión indefinidamente de la suspensión de entrega de visas a ciudadanos haitianos.
Además, enfatizó que, a través del Bandex, activarán un fondo para financiar un amplio programa de mecanización agrícola para reducir la contratación de trabajadores inmigrantes indocumentados.
Mientras que, se prohibirá la exportación de productos electrónicos, cemento, varillas y otros materiales de construcción para evitar que se construyan estructuras que amenacen los activos medioambientales.
El funcionario expuso que se habilitará Corredores Comerciales Provisionales (CCP), con estrictas medidas de control militar y registro biométrico obligatorio, en las provincias de Dajabón, Elías Piña, Independencia y Pedernales.
El objetivo de esto es facilitar el comercio de productos esenciales dominicanos como alimentos y medicinas, especialmente para los infantes.
Detalló que se instruyó a la Consultoría Jurídica la redacción urgente del reglamento operativo de la Ley 216-11 sobre mercados fronterizos, para garantizar elevados niveles de seguridad.
Estas medidas comenzarán a ser aplicadas desde las el viernes 13 de octubre a las 6:00 am.
Homero Figueroa, ademas que el presidente Luis Abinader ha dicho que la frontera no puede ser y no será la misma. Por esta razón, estas medidas continuarán siendo la nueva normalidad en la frontera hasta que logremos un retorno de la gobernabilidad en Haití.
Señaló que “la prioridad seguirá siendo la defensa del interés nacional y la seguridad de nuestros ciudadanos”.
