Actualmente, el mandatario está aislado en la Ciudad del Cabo con síntomas leves de la enfermedad y recibe el tratamiento necesario. Ramaphosa, que contaba con la pauta completa de la vacuna contra el covid-19, está «de buen ánimo», pero bajo el monitoreo de los especialistas del Servicio de Sanidad Militar de la Fuerza de Defensa del país.
Tras contagiarse con el virus, el presidente delegó sus funciones al vicepresidente David Mabuza para la semana que viene.
