La artista cubanoestadounidense Camila Cabello recibirá el Premio Orgullo, otorgado por la Hispanic Federation (HF) a los latinos que enorgullecen a la comunidad y demuestran excelencia en sus respectivos campos, anunció la organización este miércoles, 20 de abril.
La gala anual de HF se celebrará el jueves 28 de abril en el Museo Americano de Historia Natural en la ciudad de Nueva York, donde se rendirá homenaje a la cantante y compositora de 35 años, nominada en tres ocasiones al Grammy.
Cabello, que llegó a Estados Unidos a los 7 años de edad, se ha destacado por su activismo al defender causas importantes para la comunidad latina en Estados Unidos, destacó HF en un comunicado.
La organización explicó que Cabello, en asociación con Movement Voter Fund, lanzó el año pasado el proyecto Healing Justice para proporcionar recursos de bienestar y salud mental a jóvenes.
Agregó que “como inmigrante, Camila Cabello también se ha dedicado a apoyar a los migrantes y solicitantes de asilo en la frontera entre Estados Unidos y México”.
La HP dijo que las ganancias de la gala apoyarán varios esfuerzos, incluida la ayuda por la pandemia de covid-19 a familias latinas en 41 estados y Puerto Rico.
