República Dominicana. – El Partido Revolucionario Dominicano (PRD) conmemora este domingo su XXXVIII Convención Nacional Ordinaria José Francisco Peña Gómez, para escoger las nuevas autoridades del período 2023-2027, en un proceso en el que buscan la reelección del actual presidente Miguel Vargas Maldonado.
La actividad se realizará en el Hotel Crowne Plaza Santo Domingo, desde las 8:00 de la mañana hasta las 4:00 de la tarde, a donde fueron convocados 1,592 delegados y delegadas del PRD en todo el territorio nacional.
En el transcurso de la convención se escogerá al presidente del partido, así como a los titulares de las secretarías General, de Organización, 21 vicepresidentes nacionales, 21 subsecretarios generales, al igual que las comisiones: Nacional de Control, de Reforma Estatutaria, de Elecciones Internas y el Consejo Nacional de Ética y Disciplina.
El proceso será mediante votación directa y secreta, bajo la modalidad de presentación de candidaturas plurinominales (planchas).
Miguel Vargas Maldonado, presidente del PRD, instó a los delegados y delegadas de la organización a participar de manera masiva en el proceso interno.
«Votemos todos de manera militante y entusiasta, para que hagamos de ese día una fiesta de la democracia perredeísta, y contribuyamos al fortalecimiento de nuestro partido y a su consolidación como opción del pueblo en las elecciones de 2024», dijo Vargas Maldonado.
