Este jueves, llegó a Ucrania el secretario general de la OTAN, Jens Stoltenberg, en su primera visita a la nación desde el inicio de la invasión emprendida por Rusia en febrero de 2022, indicaron a EFE fuentes de la Alianza Atlántica.
“El secretario general de la OTAN está en Ucrania. Daremos más información lo antes posible”, indicaron las fuentes aliadas, sin pronunciar más datos sobre la agenda del político noruego en Ucrania.
La OTAN resaltó en numerosas ocasiones como organización que no está en guerra con Rusia pese a la asistencia práctica y al apoyo con material no letal que le está proporcionando, que incluye combustible, suministros médicos, sistemas de satélites móviles o puentes de pontones.
Hasta el momento, Stoltenberg no había viajado a Ucrania pese a que líderes de países miembros de la Alianza han visitado Kiev en diferentes ocasiones.
Ucrania es una de las principales preocupaciones no obstante de la OTAN y volverá a ser protagonista en la próxima cumbre de líderes aliados que tendrá lugar en julio en Vilna, a la que está invitado a acudir el presidente ucraniano, Volodímir Zelenski.
