Con 3,465 contagiados y más de 172 fallecidos, Ecuador es uno de los países de Latinoamérica más golpeado por el Covid-19. En estos momentos la provincia de Guayas supera los 2,400 contagiados del virus. De los 527 pacientes hospitalizados en esta región, 139 están en estado reservado. Aunque las cifras las detallan en esta forma; 172 como resultado positivo del Covid-19, también dicen que hay 146 más de fallecidos por causas probables del coronavirus o de deficiencia respiratoria. Estas cifras dan un total de 318 fallecidos en estos últimos datos, según publicaciones de algunos periódicos ecuatorianos.
